Frec 3 Intended Audience
The Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care (Level 3 RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, ideal for those looking to work or volunteer as a first responder.
Among the first to arrive at a scene, first responders typically include police officers, firefighters, and those providing medical cover at festivals and events such as Emergency/Community First Responders, Door Supervisors, Close Protection Operatives and Security Guards as well as those working in high risk environments including the military, power stations, agriculture and manufacturing.
Frec 3 Course Overview
This informative, hands-on 5-day course fulfils the competencies set out in the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level D, providing the knowledge and practical skills needed to deal with a range of prehospital emergency care situations. The Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care (Level 3 RQF) covers; administration of emergency oxygen, management of trauma patients, major illnesses and much more. Frec 3 Assessment methods
6 x practical assessments/skills tests, 3 x theory assessments (multiple choice question papers), 1 x invigilated exam.
Frec 5 Certification. Successful learners will receive a personalised Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care (Level 3 RQF) e-Certificate immediately after their results have been submitted, subject to a Centre’s Direct Claims Status and any required actions.

QA Level 4 Diploma in First Response Emergency and Urgent Care (RQF)
As the next step for those who have completed the Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care (Level 3 RQF), this qualification provides learners with a wider scope of practice in Prehospital care emergencies, allowing for greater employment opportunities. It also forms part of a progressive suite of Prehospital care qualifications that lead to the QA Level 6 Diploma in Paramedic Practice (RQF).
Frec 4 Intended Audience
The QA Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised Prehospital care qualification specifically designed for those looking to progress their career within the NHS or private ambulance services as an emergency care assistant, intermediate ambulance practitioner, event medical provider, associate practitioner or healthcare assistant. It is also ideal for those who are looking to work within specialist roles in the military, police and fire services.
Frec 4 Course Overview
Fulfilling the competencies set out in the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level E, this qualification provides learners with the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to be able to deal with a wide range of Prehospital care emergencies, such as: major incidents, fracture immobilisation, sick and injured children, mental health issues and more.

3 x Practical assessments, 2 x Skills tests, 3 x Learner workbooks and 2 x Invigilated exams.

Frec 5 Assessment methods
Practical assessment/Skills tests – 8 completed throughout the course. Theory assessment/Short answer questions: 4 End of module invigilated assessment papers and 3 Learner workbooks.
